Biography

Dan first apprenticed with a sculptor in Bangalore, India, while pursuing his undergraduate degree in comparative religion, anthropology, and languages. After subsequent art studies in Japan and Jerusalem, Dan moved on to working in a ceramics studio in Hangzhou, China. In 2006 he moved to Ithaca, NY, where he taught Arabic and wheel throwing at the Cornell University pottery studio. In 2007, he started an 18-month artist residency at the Cub Creek Foundation in Virginia, followed by 3 years as Chris Gustin's studio manager in Massachusetts. Dan has been invited to various national and international residencies including Maine, Denmark, France, Québec City, and Boston. He now resides and works in London, UK.
