Biography
Pola Bluu (born in 1989 in Poland) is young polish artist living and working in Poland and also in Italy. Her works focus on femininity, sexuality and identity. Her artistic practice includes sculpture, graphic art, photography, ready-made used within installations. Her works treat mostly about women rights problems in nowadays Poland but also can be applied to the women all over the world. The problems describe social and political fields. The women are force to fight for right to vote into fundamental human rights and also in conviction sphere.
Her activities have the support and critically engage with complex visual representations of gendered social life and social role under conditions of political struggle and disenfranchisement in the globalized present. Artist depends on changing society thinking about gender role what is actually discrimination issue based on hermetically closed stereotypical thinking.
2014 – graduated the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland.
2012-2013 she has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy.
In 2014 she received her Master’s degree at the Department of Graphic Art at the Studio of Printmaking, led by Piotr Smolnicki who was the supervisor of her practical part entitled Czy wszystkie jesteśmy skazane na odkobiecanie? . Her Master thesis Pochwa(!)one, instead, was supervised by Katarzyna Kasia.
