Biography

Madeleine Lohrum Strancari (M. Lohrum) is an artist based in London and currently working across video, drawing and performance. Her work is inspired by the uncertain and changeable nature of both our social context and artistic creation. She was born in the Canary Islands (Spain) where she graduated with honours through the Interdisciplinary Projects route in 2013 in the University of La Laguna (ull). She recently graduated in an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, where she has developed in depth her abilities in video and performative drawing.

Recent group exhibitions include ‘Complex Topography, Movement and Change’, at the Ritsurin Garden, for the Setouchi Triennale (Takamatsu, Japan), several participations in ‘What is an Art School?’ programme, curated by Alex Schady in collaboration with Tate Exchange, at the Switch House, Tate Modern (London, UK), ‘Eat, Sleep, Print, Repeat’, at Parfitt Gallery (Croydon, UK), and 'Degree Show one: Art' at Central saint Martins (London, UK).



She has also curated exhibition projects in the Canary Islands and some self-curated exhibitions in London. In summer 2016 she participated in the Tokyo Geidai Residency, in Tokyo (Japan).
