Biography
The body, its attitudes, its expressions and physical consistence are the starting point of my research. I am interested in showing the weakness of the human soul through the observation of its shell - the body.
The analysis of the human body is enacted through a very detailed, meticolous process, having its roots in my formation. In fact, my studies in anatomical and surgical drawing at the faculty of Medicine of the University of Bologna influenced deeply my poetics.
My paintings analyze the human being. The body is the mean I have chosen because it is the only vehicle of pleasure and despair from which we cannot escape, it's the instrument we use to get to know the world, feel it, get modified by it.
Modification and evolution are also important part of my work. I never stuck too long with a theme. I carry on a continuous research, both in terms of topics and style.
