Biography

My paintings are made by personal experiences with the city of São Paulo, where images are appropriate and recombined in dystopia, with art dissolving in the context of urban life. It is to paint the city without painting a landscape.
These works try to open the contradictions of living in a specific territory, but at the same time several different events and places around the globe influence us as we perceive space and ourselves. It is a montage of the world interested in the relations of individuals dependent on the collective and the place where they live, of specific parts of what makes us recognize where we are and who we are.
I tried to make these paintings maps of hidden structures from the city. The juxtaposition of fragments belonging to different instants, such as a plurality of instants within the same frame. The raw material is the image in repetition, not only in the sense of movement, but addressing the present time. The emphasis is on the discussion of the place and the various paths and possibilities that make the daily life of a changing society.
These are very important works for me to recognize in my world the universe that surrounds me. I do not just live in my house, I do not only produce at work, I am not happy only with my wife or friends, there is a fabric that wears this world that touches my skin without realizing it and without which I do not know where I am.
