“When Laura isn’t painting she is an architect.
She applies a home environment aesthetic using building techniques and therefore works with heavy, dense materials, on rigid projects.
When Laura isn’t an architect she is a painter.
She applies her inner aesthetic, using painting techniques to portray fleeting moments, moods and atmosphere with lightness.
She doesn’t want to follow geometric methods, rather she wants to celebrate floral forms, pay homage to the freedom that is integral to nature.
Painting on wooden frames, she uses oils to create a soft, mellow background, from where water-colour painted flowers emerge, light and free, with a Japanese influence.
The flowers form only a part of the image, as the background plays an important role in altering the observer’s perception, giving weight to the colours and texture”.
