Biography
Nicolas Constantin Romanacci is a composer, particularly for classical guitar. Furthermore he is composing and performing contemporary folk music as a guitarist and singer. As a composer in a broader, yet meaningfully sense he is working in the realms: music, image, text (poetry and philosophy). Major installation: »Variations IX«, an interactive, audio-visual composition, shown from 22 May to 29 November 2015 at the »Staatliches Textil- und Industriemuseum Augsburg (tim)«. Related to artistic practice he is doing research and teaching, at university level and particularly doing artwork and composition (music & lyrics) with children and juveniles, approaching a broader concept of education, from a philosophical point of view. Profoundly, he is also doing Iwama Ryu Aikido, and teaching the »Aiki Minis« (4-6 years), approaching Budō. /// »the works of nicolas constantin romanacci are subtle and precise compositions. offering space for considerations on various realms, always avoiding to be mere narrative, illustrative, documentary, abstract, conceptual or importunately fancy. characterized through a well considered ambiguity, combined with a relentless compositional lucidity.« (»Bataang*«, art zine, issue 1, Berlin 2008).
