Biography

Rosalind Davis is a mixed media artist creating complex and 3d dystopian landscapes, with a romantic and melancholy undercurrent.

Davis is inspired by structures in urban environments that to the uninitiated may seem neglected but for the individuals who use these buildings they are a refuge and of vital importance.

The medium she utilises, mixing painting with textile appliqué and embroidery, is complex and adds fragility and tenderness to the subject matter, emphasising the disconcerting juxtaposition between aesthetics and meaning

Davis studied at Chelsea College of Art and the Royal College of Art and has exhibited widely securing exposure through exhibiting in many prestigious shows and galleries and has paintings in both public and private collections
