Biography

My work is fundamentally concerned with the self as subject matter for the camera, and acts as a demonstration of the role of photographic technology in individual self-representation. Throughout my working practice thus far I have used 'time' as a tool to explore different modes of the self within its own representation. This has been explored through both photography and the moving image, and their relationship to each other within ideas of self and time.

My current work is an exploration of the production of one-off and unique hand made C-Type prints. These prints have been produced through spending extended periods of time in the dark room, during which I have used traditional and experimental printing processes to produce these individual singular objects. I believe that my practice is in itself unique, where by it challenges photography, its reproductive nature as a medium, and its ability to endlessly repeat and communicate as a single image.
