Biography

...Marco Pace grew up in Abruzzo but he lives in Florence, where he earned a Degree in Painting. He writes comics and cartoons, has worked in theatrical and film production as a set designer and is the assistant of the artist Gianni Pettena. However, painting is his main activity and interest.
His paintings mix photography and primitive art. After and intense research, he takes pictures of the interiors of buildings that are particularly relevant for the modern architecture: the Musee du Quai Branly (Paris), the Station of Michelucci (Florence) etc. He uses the pictures as models for the background of his paintings; then, he puts into these locations creatures that resemble the animals and the human beings portrayed in the primitive art from Africa and Oceania. Also his drawings are made with the same method.
