Biography
Grew up in a countryside orchard in Taiwan, my early childhood companions were wildlife and nature, plus a tin box of crayons, and my canvas was huge - Walls around the house! It’s a 60-70 feet long all together. In middle school, I always carried a sketchbook in my backpack, and recess was my drawing time.
Either watercolor or oil, almost all of my painting was done in “alla prima” style, no primary study or sketch was done, nor touch up after the painting session, which to me was a “tour de force” I put upon myself.
I tried faithfully to render what I see, but often that may not be the prefer scene for the audience, and I have no intent to imitate other level of cognition other than my own. My emotion with each painting has limited meaning to others, thus the work title usually reflects of an instance or a story occurred while I did the painting.
