Biography
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Soo Sunny Park received her BFA in painting and sculpture from Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio and a MFA in sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. After a residency in Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, she worked as an installation artist and Lecturer at the Washington University, St. Louis, MO. In 2001, she was selected as the River Front Times’ "Best of 2001” St. Louis Sculptor. Park is a recipient of the Joan Mitchell MFA Grant, and Grand Prize winner of the 19th Annual Michigan Fine Arts Competition, Cité Internationale des Arts Studio Residency, Paris, France. In 2008, Park received the Helen Foster Barnett prize for best sculpture from the National Academy Museum, New York City.
