Biography
Grace Wawa Yang was born and raised in Taiwan. She completed an MFA from Parsons School of Design, in New York City and has a BFA from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, in Vancouver, Canada.
She currently lives and works in New York City.
Yang’s artistic expression stems from an inherent desire to understand her own existence. Her art process is a philosophical investigation to simultaneously understand life and art. Through her art she expresses her inner and outer world, representing both her consciousness of the world around her and her imaginative subconscious. She believes in challenging the format of her work, and uses various mediums such as digital photography, light box, and mix-media installations.
