Biography

Diana Höding - about my work

I find sources of inspiration for my artistic pieces in the diversity of the attributes and interests of humans as a part of their nature. Heads, faces, and bodies operate and communicate with one another or against each other in my images. Throughout the process I frequently play with optical illusions and symbols that continually allow the viewer to discover something new, suprising, and unexpected. My pictures often portray my own personal experiences with ones own realm of knowledge in highly varying European cultures and can be viewed as an antipole to the illustrious world of merchandise in today’s mass production and the provoked corruption of the individual nature. In my artistic work the presented or created structure of the background portrays an essential component of the picture’s composition. The dynamically created structure is conceded by highly contrasting and powerful color design and formation. The surface expands together with the colors and forms.
