Biography

From 1969 till 1974 Christian O. Böttger attended the Werkskunstschule (school of art) at Armgartstrasse and was a HfbK (University of Fine Arts of Hamburg) Student of Rudolf Hausners. Surely he has taken on his fine observations. Rudolf Hausner was one of the founders of the Viennese School, the group of the „fantastical realism“.
Christian O. Böttger has also written several witty short stories, published by the Hamburger Autorenvereinigung (authors’ union of Hamburg).
In 1986 Christian O. Böttger was awarded a prize at the Bertelsmann Erzählwettbewerb (Story telling competition) and received the literature prize for short prose works in 1987 from the Hamburger Autorenvereinigung (authors’ union).
Even his paintings/art work tell the observer stories with a humorous background. He works in his studio in Schretstaken near Hamburg and is represented by the Galerie am Michel. In November 2009 he will exhibit his new art work dealing with the theme: “Just Theater”.
