Biography

While in the earlier works, I focussed on rural and urban architecture as two oppositional environments symbolising both movement and transition from place to place or state to state, in the newer works, the human presence becomes more central. From the perspective of my own transcultural background and upbringing the issues of Heimat, the representation of homeliness and foreignness as well as relationships and communicative exchange are addressed.
The techniques I apply are photography, various forms of printmaking, drawing and (video-) installation. The combination of various media allows room for experimentation and hence a less predictable outcome which I favour and seek in my practice.
