Biography
My work investigates the multilayered and changing relationship we have with our environment.
It often deals with empty spaces in order to produce a sense of stillness, a moment dislocated from our infinite growth lifestyle.
The images look closely at the ‘skin’ of the earth and simultaneously try to access a way of thinking about this subject matter and what it implies.
They allude to the psychological reflex to anthropomorphize our environment that thinks of spaces as possessing spirit or character; and have been compared to the experiences of dream states.
By showing the landscape literally in a different light, the series aims to encourage a more reflective perception of our surroundings, and hopes to be a reminder of the diverse beauty of the land.
