Metamorphosis and secrets of nature
Every little detail in living things is never due to chance but to the extraordinary evolution that follows the rules of mathematical-geometrical symmetries. The nature incorporates this features in its myriad forms of organic-life, and this has always captured my total interest.
In biomass of marine origin can be found microscopic algae; DIATOMS and RADIOLARIANS, whose origin dates back more than 230 million years ago. These beautiful prehistoric organisms have a structural morphology similar to jewelry, and their siliceous shells pierced with beautifully shaped discs, ellipses, rectangles, diamonds and triangles are symmetrical and this is an natural universal identification code and communication.
After years of experimentation I was able to develop a special technique of layering color by hand and using a thin sheet of metal oxidized, as a coating, I get iridescent colors that allow me to approach this spectacle of nature.
2400 years ago philosophers like Pitagora and Platone described the origin of life using the rules of triangle’s geometry.
Einstein was in search of equation to represent the “whole”.
From quantum mechanics we know that the atom and its infinitely small particles use the symmetry.
Fibonacci number sequences and the beautiful golden spiral, making their bonds more stable and durable.
Based on these principles, I created and invented my own biomass, set of terrestrial and marine organisms creatures that play with the balance of life. I also reinterpreted the structure of the eye, turning it into an egg cell that contains a form of embryonic life.
In the sculpture "NATURAL VISION" the reconstruction of the human cell splits the light in the spectrum of natural colors and in a lot of detailed images.The organ that allows us to categorize, recognize and give meaning to each image captured by our eyes is definitely the brain.
But imagine if we exclude this last of its filtering function, how and what are the things we see every day?
