"Self-taught young artist Henry Tan unconsciously discovered art as a medium of expression through his curious and doubtful fresh eyes in urban contemporary society, he began to question everything from cultural structure to religious practices.
Born in Bangkok in 1986 to a Chinese-Thai middle class family, he struggled during his teenage years in search for his individuality. Henry Tan found that social beliefs and their formations contradict his existence in the society, being unable to imitate the influence of motif's pathway to success and happiness. He pushes the boundaries and criticizes the tradition and trend of urban lifestyle.
From his shocking performances to conceptual installations and paintings. Henry's art corrupts the mindset of the audiences and triggers their own personal context and presents them with alternative opinions."
