Biography

I have been taught to find a skill that makes me money rather than explore my creative side through artistic exploits. I always feel like a nerd when I try to write, speak, create, and present. It seems too matter-of-fact, so much so that it feels impertinent. Therefore my education and experience focuses on biology and horticulture, creatively applied in designing and maintaining private gardens while propagating a personal collection of tropical plants.

Since childhood there has been an interest in art such as drawing and painting. But in my quest for the “right” trade, I found I have a very technical view. Photography creates a bridge between the creative and technical mind. With the advent of digital photography, it has become possible to grasp the method while exploring the creative in a way that allows for quick and inexpensive turnaround and the lessons within.

In my photographic work I am interested in capturing a moment in time that I see which others may not have noticed or had the opportunity to see. The creative is often found in a fleeting moment.
