My work mainly consists of painting landscapes in oil on canvas. A part of the picture (mostly the sky) is painted in strong colours with very high details, leaving the rest of the picture a rough sketch with oil pen on white primer.
I developed this special technique over the last few years. The opposition of colour and black-white and the difference in the used techniques produce a very strong contrast. For the viewer, both parts of the picture unite in a confusing way.
The viewer quickly begins to fill the white spaces with his or her own colours and the frail hints of landscapes are filled with his memories, transferring my painting into a very personal and intimate image.
