Biography

My paintings explore a visual with a distinct sense of place. They indirectly describe a vulnerability within an entropic landscape. The use of a non-figurative narrative acts as a window of opportunity, leading the viewer’s eye and thought processes through surface space, while other elements obstruct this route, veiling certain biographical components. I am interested in the fine boundaries between the darkness of the banal and fantasy within reality. I aim to provoke the image of a flashback, a distorted memory or hallucination, the ambiguity of which generates multiple readings.
