"The two features of this remarkable Neorealism are the graphics and the synthesis.
The individual characters are only known to Antonio Bernardo through the photographs that he uses for his paintings. The photograph in fact assumes the language of the artist, Antonio Bernardo and is the fundamental importance of his work. It is the fetish which allows the images to capture a mood or insights into trends.
In his paintings, the empty space is often used to make the viewer have a moment of reflection; it is not simply the full counterpart, nor purely the aesthetic.
In Antonio Bernardo's work, the 'emptiness' does not contribute much to direct attention to the 'full' painting, but it isolates and magnifies our eyes to the value of the painting as a whole."
