Biography

Iranian-born artist, living and working in Teheran, holding a Master of Fine Arts from Valand school of Fine Arts, in Gothenburg, Sweden and currently practicing art in the forms of photography, video art and installation. I use my inter-disciplinary background to develop art projects. Cultural changes in Iran have challenged me to cope with everyday life and enriched the sources of my artistic practice.

My art is inspired by everyday objects that juxtapose with material qualities. It is comprised of series of works which have evolved over time, dealing with and questioning identity and problematic anarchy issues. It consists of mixed media projects focused on a problem, questioning it in different contexts. In a consistent basis, by exploring different mediums, I question the ways to showcase an object that would present itself beyond its identified image, its own properties, and considering its relation to the different layers in artistic context. My work reproduces visual aesthetics, merging them into a conceptually layered piece.
