Biography

Maurizio Falcocchio was born in Rome on 26 May 1975. Even as a child, he showed a remarkable talent for drawing and painting. Although he undertook technical and economic studies, he continued to cultivate his interests in art, attending art workshops and private drawing lessons. His first pictures, in 2003, were painted in oil and tempera, and represent in an essential manner ideas, moods, everyday phrases and sensations, filtered through his sensibility as an eclectic artist. Taking his inspiration from Masters such as Dalì and De Chirico, Falcocchio depicts figures of human semblance, mainly with feminine shapes, and surreal and metaphysical landscapes.

From 2003 to January 2009 his works were signed with the pseudonym FALBRI. From the on, he decided to use his real surname.
Falcocchio’s work “Casablanca” was selected by the Jury of the 14th National Contest SaturArte 2009.
This picture will be inserted in the general catalogue of the event and will be displayed at Palazzo Stella in Genoa from 12 September to 26 September 2009.

Falcocchio is included in the Modern Art Yearbook “Artisti contemporanei” (“Contemporary artists”), ACCA in…Arte Editrice.
