Who's scared of dolls?
The dolls are absurd characters, an exasperated beauty made of unreal bodies and ethereal perfection. Exactly what media society asks us to become: icons of beauty, timeless girls always neat and well dressed.
However the idea of female beauty is changing. It seems there is now a glut in the common imagination. Also thanks to the Internet, is opening a space to show their uniqueness through the imperfection.
I search and find these new dolls in the network, among the photos uploaded to Facebook and Myspace and I paint these dolls trying to capture the dichotomous aspect of their personality. Strong and fragile, sweet and aggressive. Dolls with all their might claim to exist and no longer willing to strict cataloging schemes too narrow.
Here appear the new ideals of beauty and new horizons of the imagination test.
