Biography
Akiko Takizawa was born in 1971 in Fukuoka city in Japan and live and work in London.
She studied at MA Fine Arts, Royal College of Arts in 2003-2006.
Her recent shows are Lauréates 2014 du Prix HSBC pour la Photographie,
La Maison de la Photographie de Lille, La Galerie Seine 51 Paris, and L’Arsenal de Metz.

These photographs follow the transient souls that drift in amongst the flickering light and dark, during the blizzard night, air heavy with the spring bloom, before disappearing once more.
Through the technique of Collotype printing with its 150 year of history, the carbon black images illuminates the time we are living.
Ces photographies s’attachent à suivre les âmes éphémères qui apparaissent à travers les vacillations changeantes de la lumière, un jour pesant pendant la floraison printanière ou encore une nuit d’hiver pendant une tempête de neige, pour disparaître à nouveau. Grâce à la technique de la collotypie qui remonte à plus de 150 années, les impressions à l’encre noire illustrent avec grâce l’époque dans laquelle nous vivons.
