Biography
Mythology has my special interest, it inspires me. Why? Because the Gods do all the things humans do.
My paintings are - although you don't recognize it immidiately - a fusion of pure painting and concrete figuration. After preparing the canvas and putting on several layers, I start with the first abstract phase. Here my acts are purely intuitive, even in haste sometimes, to obtain a chaotic, evocative space. In this space, I see an undefinable 'presence', that leads to the second phase: filling in this space by using the recognizable means of a character. The colorful, abstract backdrop plays the leading role, in which my characters play a very important role. They are as extras that make the painting complete and realise my quest for a compromise between abstract and figurative art.
