Biography
Francesca Vezzani was born in Reggio Emilia (Italy) in 1974 and begun practicing photography in 1982. She studied Architecture in Ferrara and graduated in 2000. Her interest for disorientation in architecture was formed in 1998, while travelling during her university years.
From 2001 to 2003 she lived and worked in London, where she begun to explore photography mainly in the modern and contemporary architecture field. She participated in several photographic competitions, published and exhibited some university works and her graduation thesis in Reggio Emilia, Ferrara and Ravenna. Her thesis gained a special mention from ASSIRCO Giovani.
Francesca has been a member of the photographic association REfoto of Reggio Emilia since 2005 and of the Photographers Gallery of London since 2006. In November 2006 she was a winner in the competition Lights/Shadows in Architecture, organized by the cultural associations ArchCineFoto and Non Solo Cinema of Venice. Her photographic series Labyrinths was exhibited during the European Photography Week 2007 and 2009 of Reggio Emilia and at the Croydon Clocktower of London in August 2007.
She was in London between 2006 and 2009.
