Biography

The works rotates around the concept of a person’s ability to change and survive in this contemporary society. They are based on the concept of Jaques Derrida termed as “Under Erasure” which speaks about the inadequate yet necessary. It’s about these things or objects which make us who we are. The pet we keep the flower pot in our house, choice of our room wallpaper and the many small items around us.

These small things though insignificant become the reason of our life. The use of a dreamy atmosphere in most of the works to show the in between ness of real life and ones fantasy.

A lot of time a person is not just who he is but who he projects. It is this idea of the one personality under the erasure of another.

The works are not overburdened by these ideas and there is an opening for the audience to interpret them as they desire object selection is just a catalyst in the process. Each work is open to a more personal interpretation as each one is created with the though of a certain phase in ones life. They act like a magnet to open you life ahead of you. Like a meditation method that tells you about yourself about regeneration and survival.

They are works which are about the contemporary society and contemporary man yet not far away from the mysticism and religious concepts. The works grow out of this thought that each work is an answer to ones life.

The works speak about the sustainable nature of things which regenerate and transform discarded elements back into the cycle of nature like a small yet powerful plat growing out of the concrete jungle created by man. No matter the amount of damage man does to the society nature finally win over as it is indeed more powerful then any thing man has created. It is this that is underling all my works are reflected by the concept of under erasure.
