How do you become a photographer? Sometimes it’s details that strike you as a child and awaken a desire or a passion inside you. In the case of Noah the fault was of the parents, who were quite tight-fisted about photographing their children’s birthdays. “My parents didn’t have cameras”, says Noah. “As a result I only have about a dozen pictures of myself as a little girl and this has always made me mad. You could say I became a photographer to get my own back!” And it must have been quite frustrating to go school-mates’ homes and find that they had whole albums dedicated to them, maybe divided up by years.
This creative need matured over the years, becoming a curiosity at first and then a strong will to create, to photograph, to print in the dark-room. After a professional digression as an illustrator and graphic designer, her meeting with Winkler acted as a detonator producing a mixture that fuses traditional photography with experimentation and creative manipulation.
