Biography

Marco Giambrone (born in San Giovanni Gemini AG in 1976) is an Italian artist and musician, a self-taught photographer and painter. He started with traditional figurative oil painting, representing the colours and the suggestions of the Sicilian landscape around him. In past years Giambrone won several awards in extemporary painting competitions and he had been working on some experimental collages that mixed pop-art with figurative oil painting. Actually he use to work on small cardboards using oil colour, transfers and a lo-fi typographic processing.
In 2010, Giambrone's paintings appeared on the cover and the booklet of Marlowe’s fourth album, “Fiumedinisi”. Further to this, "Zen" features as one of the illustrations of the second Iori’s Eyes Ep Matter of time. He lives and works in Cammarata - Sicily.
Figures, objects, colours, letters. The combination of all these elements gives to me a chance to obtain what I want. I really love illustrations and these works contain the same attitude, or maybe they are just like some collages without scissors and glue.
