Biography
ARTE CONTEMPORANEA runs presently a new space in Brussels (Rue des Chevaliers 22 – 1050 Ixelles), with the aim of pushing ahead the gallery’s basic mission: to promote young artists, either established or not, under the lead of renowned and research-oriented curators; to foster the international exchange and cross-fertilization of ideas; to develop cooperation and mutual support with Italian public and private institutions within the EU context; to create a continuous supply of information and initiatives devoted to widen the audience of contemporary visual research; to provide assistance and training to artists and curators through residential stages at its venue. The space was opened on March, 19, 2010, and has since then shown the following events:
2010 CAGES, a solo show of Loredana Longo curated by Antonio Arévalo.
2010 EUROPEAN EDUCATION, double solo show of Margherita Morgantin and Enzo Umbaca curated by Roberto Pinto; partner MIAT Museum GENT
2010 PAS MOI, double solo show of Marco De Sanctis and Antone Israel, with the cooperation of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts – Brussels.
2011 NO SIGNAL FOUND, a solo show of Younes Baba-Ali, curated by Bérénice Saliou.
2011 MotDit, a solo show of Max Tomasinelli, curated by Alessandro Trabucco.
2012 BETWEEN RELIGION, a solo show of Franck Bragigand, curated by Bart Verschaffel.
