Biography

Janet Batet is a curator and art critic based in Miami. A former researcher and curator at the Development Center of Visual Arts and Professor at the Higher Institute of Art, both in Havana, she is passionate about Latin American art, contemporary art and new technologies.
Her relevant writings on art practices are published regularly. Art writer for publications such as Art Nexus, Art Pulse, El Nuevo Herald, Wynwood the Art Magazine, Miami Art Guide, Knight Arts, among others, her work has been included in several anthologies on Contemporary Cuban Art.
Member of the management and curatorial team that established the foundations of the Salón de Arte Cubano Contemporáneo (Salon of Contemporary Cuban Art), based in Havana, Janet Batet also contributed as a specialist in Caribbean Art for the first Biennial of Montreal.
