Biography
João Duarte was born in Coimbra in 1968. He started sculpting around 13 years ago attracted by the different forms, volumes and shadows that this kind of art allows to create, therefore he experimented with various materials with different textures like clay, stone, wood and iron. As a self-taught artist, passionate for sculpture, he conceives his pieces with an aesthetic and experimental purpose, instead of a commercial one, being this the main reason why his pieces haven’t been exposed more often.
