Biography
There are two strands to my research. One is to create photographic work that contains perceptual and conceptual analogues of my experiences within landscape. The other is to examine the photographs in relation to intuited criteria that I’m reluctant to name and describe but which i identify with in other artists work and an English pastoral tradition transcending styles and historic categories. Pastoral links to pre-history show that the mix of water, light and landscape was thought to have magical and transformative power and water in the form of lakes and rivers were experienced as portals to the 'other'.
