Biography

Angelo Pisciotta was born in Villa San Giovanni (Reggio Calabria, Italy)on January 19, 1950. Pisciotta followed his family's footsteps, his paternal grandfather was a well known musician and was a part of Mascagni's orchestra.From his maternal side (The Pesa family) there are a number of artistic personalities dedicated to art: an uninterrupted vein of sculptors that were traditionally dedicated to above all Sacred Art.It is therefore evident that being born in a similar environment rich with artistic urgings he dedicated himself to sculpting and painting early on.Pisciotta considers art a means of universal communication and we see it better in his present work where he makes use of figures impregnated with symbolism that he fixes on the canvas, which at first seem to be static but that acquire vitality and movement through chromatic vibrations of colors.In this way, his art is a contemporary expression that draw out symbolic images that range over time.Pisciotta's art has been shown in official exhibitions and for a long time he attended the artistic atmosphere of the Albertina Academy of Turin (Italy): a city where he lived for more than 20 years and where he was appreciated and admired for His Works.Subsequently he went to Pordenone (Italy), where he still resides, and he continues to sculpt and paint with the same intimate perseverance.
