Biography
I am inspired by the sheer magnitude of power displayed by the grace and movement of some of the world’s most recognised and beautiful animals. The freedom and raw instinct of a wild animal impresses upon me and the unspoiled qualities of nature stimulate my work and ideas. I discovered a traditional method of oil painting as the most powerful way to deliver my artistic vision of capturing a moment of action in our natural world. By contrasting intricate close up sections of an animals features with broad bands of colour I bring the larger painting alive, applying several transparent veiled glazes to give an almost translucent finish. I endeavor to create subtle layers that reveal the physical history of the painting process focusing on tone and depth.
I work from my studio in Reigate and am currently working on my next exhibition, an original oil Collection - 'Majestic Moments'.
