Biography
I was born in 1981.
In 2005 I graduated magna cum laude at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome with a Thesis about Videoclip as a form of contemporary art.
In 2006 I started studying as Contemporary Art Curator at the University “La Sapienza” in Rome.I graduated in 2010 with a Thesis on Janet Cardiff.
In 2007 I moved to Berlin, where I am still living and working.
I took part in several collective and solo exhibitions, projects and art competitions in Italy, Germany and UK.
Artist´Statement:
My works leads to a exploration of the feminine body and feelings and to a look at the feminine itself.
The person I paint are soulfully very close to me. They have a story, feelings, and fears inside of them. I try to take all these nuances out on the surface mixing them to my own feelings, and trying to let the canvas charged of emotions, trying at the same time to stay as realistic as possible.
In my nudes the bodies dissolve into colorful vibrations of flesh, in which nuances play across the surface of the skin.
Lately I am deepening an interest in face´s expressions, working mainly on portrait. Some of them are given as a light
trace of a complex inner world. Some of them are extrem. I aim to portrait my generation and its beauty: the beauty of the happiness, the beauty of the pain.
I am also very fond of the medium of photography, which I use to expand my field of interest and observation. Besides portrait and people, I try to fix into the photographic image the surrounding environments of my many travels, made of architectures and objects, trying to underline the fascination of the unsual aspect of usual items and places.
