Biography

She graduated at School of Fine Arts in Mola di Bari, with an experimental thesis in the field of photography. After that, she obtained a master’s degree at the School of Fine Arts in Napoli with another experimental thesis in photography.
During this period she joined a collective, “Quarta Pittura” formed within the academy’s students; she participated in different artistic initiatives: school’s laboratory, European exchanges, personal and collective exhibitions, etc. It’s time when her research moved more strictly towards the dualistic dimension of the human being, analysing it through the photodynamic technic. Her painting activity moves in the figurative field and the use of different materials: oil, assemblage, acrylics, etc.
Since 2005 she makes video animation, both analogic (cartoon movies) and digital (stop motion) and works with DJs using animations for the VJ-sets, in the same years she met musicians from the impro-noise international scene starting a prolific collaboration.
Since 2011 she collaborates with the organisation of the Festival “Altera! Pratiche non convenzionali”.
Her recent project “Rinculo” has the intent to break up and re-create the narrative and didascalic sense to which the visual dimension is often forced to pertain (cathode tube or camera); it’s an attempt to detach oneself from the image in favour of the imagination.
