Biography

Joel is an active United States Air Force (USAF) artist represented in the USAF permanent collection and the NASA Kennedy Space Center Museum.Featured in many international journals; including CoinAGE Magazine;Watercolor Magazine American Artist Magazine, Smithsonian Profiles and Exhibit Builder Magazine.. Awarded bronze and silver medals for his corporate illustrations and public art in Portfolios.com international competitions. A Master Designer for the United States Mint ,his design for the reverse of the “Illinois” 2009 Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Cent is displayed in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. An artist's proof litho his D-Day painting is in the permanent collection of the Historical Society of Caranten,Brévands, France. His USAF mural hangs in the Pentagon. His design for Braille Commorative Silver Dollar flew aboard NASA's Altlantis Space Shuttle to repair the Hubbel Telescope and is in the permanent collection of the American Numismatic Society,N.Y. and the Museum of Opthomology,S.F.A major oil "Sources of Light" hangs in NASA's Kennedy Space Center. His 2010 Design for the Women Airforce Service Pilots Congressional Gold Medal will be permantly displayed at the Smithsonian Museum.One of the very few artists who has had his art work on display in the White House,The Capitol and the Pentagon. In May of 2011 Joel Iskowitz was inducted into the Hunter College Hall of Fame.
