Biography

Carol R Williams has been painting and drawing since she was 5 years old.
Carol is a violinist of 20+ years, a Change Agent with a Masters degree from Antioch University in Seattle in Organizational Systems Renewal with a specialization in Youth Leadership and Cultural Diversity. Carol obtained her Bachelors of Fine Art at The Evergreen State College and is currently working on her PhD in Education, with an emphasis in Community College Executive Leadership.

Carol was born in Topeka Kansas, and soon after moved to Germany where she was raised. In 1981 Carol and her family settled in Tacoma were she graduated from Mount Tahoma (Native name for Mt. Rainier) High school. Currently she resides in Seattle, WA.

As a Northwest artist Carol's focus has been to incorporate cultural awareness & competance via symbolic images found in all cultures, continents and belief systems all while incorporating the many wonderful species of Evergreen trees from the NW. Carol's work focus' on combining cultural mythologies, symbols, methodologies, and the female deity represented in all cultures to create new ideas, questions and concepts regarding diverse thinking, seeing and being. Her work has a whole systems approach (collective, interactive, adaptive, positive relationship building) and seeks to unify cultures rather than divide them. Carol's works urge you to think positive, believe, hope, and have faith of only you can make. These times require it.

Carol focuses the image in such a way that the viewer is forced to evaluate for themselves the story. The bulk of her work can be viewed or hung in which ever direction you choose.
