Biography

Manabu Shimada is a japanese sonic artist based in London and Tokyo.

Born 1982 in Tokyo, presently resident in London, UK. in 2002 he started work for a recording studio in Tokyo as an assistant recording engineer. in 2003, he became a freelance composer and a recording engineer.

in 2005, he moved to London to attend Middlesex University and study Sonic Arts. his current work concentrates on the investigation and creation of original sounds using computer technology and the coupling of installation performance with sounds.

He has received acclaim from various art critics, both in his home country and in the UK. His future ambitions include further work on marrying sounds with other expressive forms, and to present these in an accessible and interactive manner to the general public.
