Biography

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, 1977. Lives and works in Lisbon and Macao.
Master in Theory of Architecture and Urban Culture [UPC Barcelona, Spain 2010] and holds a diploma in Architecture [FAUTL Lisbon, Portugal 2001].
Exhibits since 1999. Highlights in his practice include the solo exhibitions: The Passage to the Mind’s Antipodes, Paulo Amaro Gallery, Lisbon, 2010; Lost-portrait, Pedro Serrenho Gallery, Lisbon, 2009; Emergency Exit, St. Paul’s Corner Gallery, Macao, 2008; Mapping the Unknown, Gozo Contemporary, Malta, 2008; Porous: Architectural installation, Creative Industries Centre, Macao, 2007; Impromptu pour un Voyage, Videotage, Hong Kong, 2006; Ensaios de Formol, Orada Convent, Monsaraz, Portugal, 1999. As well as the group exhibitions: FUSO – Annual Video Art on Terraces and Gardens of Lisbon, 2010; Beyond Media - International Architecture and Media Festival, Florence, 2009; Divergence: Macao’s Proposed Artworks for the 53rd Venice Biennale, 2009; Works by Macao Artists: Works by Macao Artists, Macao Centre, Beijing 2008; Macao Video Art, Academy of Arts Museum, Guangzhou, 2008; Myth of Place, Nolias Gallery, London, 2007; Dream a Little Dream, Para/Site Gallery curated by Tobias Berger, Hong Kong, 2006; Made in Macao, Experimenta Design, Lisbon, 2005; 16º Festival of Arts – Beyond History, Tap Seac Gallery, Macao, 2005. His curriculum also includes awarded prizes like the Distinction Prize in the exhibition Divergence, Macao Art Museum and Cultural Centre, being selected to represent Macao in the 53rd Venice Biennale, distinguished in the category Architecture and Interiors of Perspective magazine (Hong Kong) and with his profile in August 2008 edition “Focus 40 under 40”, Ó was also awarded in the Installation category in the 16th Macao Arts Festival, 2005. His work is represented in several public collections, such as the Macao Art Museum and Cultural Centre, the Cultural Institute of Macao and the Art for All Society, Macao and Beijing.
