Biography

Aldo Berardi was born in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, in 1963.
After graduating in Transverse Flute at the Conservatory of Music in Bari, he began an intense concert career and tours in a leading role in Greece, Belgium, Algeria, Canada and Russia.
He also obtained a degree in Philosophy and Arts at the University of Bologna (DAMS) and a master’s degree in music. He has taught flute since 1988.
He has devoted himself to photography since many years ago, but only recently embarked on the path of the digital elaboration of the images, obtaining immediately enthusiastic responses. The artist’s goal is to use the photo as a pretext to tell of a world, still hidden in its recesses, still unfolded in the corners of the harbor of small and ancient seaside city in southern Italy, a deeply expressive place where the colors of the sea, the force of human labor and antique stones meet. With the use of digital manipulation, the artist tells and emphasizes the strongly surreal implications hidden between the nets, the winches, the keels, the scraps, and the ropes passed through the sea, the cold, the heat and the sailor’s hands.
