Biography
Jared Pitts was born in 1986 in Greenwich, CT. He began his formal study of photography in 2003. Since then, he has studied at several institutions including School of Visual Arts, The Maine Photographic Workshops, and the Silvermine Arts Center. He received his BFA from Santa Fe University of Art and Design in 2010. His works strive to deliver an alternative perspective of the world around us. His abstractions allow for a unique relationship between the image and the viewer to take place. The subject matter is no longer completely tangible, forcing the viewer to react not on their knowledge of the object, but on their emotions, creating a much more meaningful, dynamic and ultimately, personal connection. The viewer is compelled to question and analyze the image without a concrete answer ever being given. This allows each piece to take on several different meanings for the viewer as a result and hopefully pushes them to view the world around them with a new, more compelling perspective.
