Biography
At heart, I am an adventurer, an intrepid explorer, always seeking the thrill of discovery. My photography is “Experiential Photography,” an experiential travel log that speaks about a particular environment and my experience with it. My digital art is all about emotions. My intent is to evoke in the viewer emotion and a potent personal experience. I want to inspire, heal and elevate the viewer and nature itself.
My photography springs from my work as an award winning nature/travel videographer. As a videographer and filmmaker (writer/director, producer), I use movie-making or post-production techniques to direct the natural elements of color, light and shadow in order to best move the viewer.
My work is imbued with the love I feel for nature, the spirit of the environment. Society as a whole is losing sight of our direct connection with the natural environment and our survival. We don’t grow our food, we go to the store. We depend upon nature, she does not depend upon us, yet she provides for us. I know first-hand pristine natural environments are disappearing due to further urbanization. Many locations I have shot over the past ten years are no more.
