Biography

BERNHARD KNAUS FINE ART has been founded 1996 in Mannheim.



In September 2007 we opened our new gallery space In Frankfurt am Main at Niddastrasse 84,

directly at the Frankfurt Central Station. In our 310 sqm space we show six exhibitions annually

by international contemporary artists.





From February 2010 on, Luigi Kurmann is partner and artistic director at Bernhard Knaus Fine Art.



Luigi Kurmann was assistant of Jean-Christophe Amman at Kunstmuseum Luzern and Kunsthalle Basel.

1978 he founded the "Raum für Aktuelle Schweizer Kunst" in Luzern, that he directed until 1986.

From 1988 until 2008 he was artistic director at Mai 36 Galerie, Zurich.

Very early, Luigi Kurmann concentrated on artists that worked with new media. He is the founder of the Video Festival

VIPER, whose president he was until 2007. Luigi Kurmann is the President of the Swiss Gallery Association since 2000.
