Biography
I work with the ancient technique of puncturing gold on board. I am extremely interested in the contamination between the charm of the history and our actuality. This contamination occurs for example through the use of the old techniques that support the contemporary themes or through the use of symbolic architectural sites that are filled with contemporary values.
The use of puncturing as the gold outline of the drawing transfers the idea of the absence of lines and form and presents the pure power. The play of sunlight inside the puncturing transforms the idea into a drawing.
So as the painting works due to the contrasts, I try to adopt in my language the relationship between the contrast and exchange between seemingly opposing elements as the ancient and the contemporary in the mix that ranging from Byzantine icons to Marcello Jori.
