Biography
"My work is about contrast, bi-polarity, doubles: it’s necessary for me to feel free to assume diverse roles, experiment with the good and the bad, involvement and detachment, black and white. I’m not capable of taking a well-defined position, but always attracted to a thing and its opposite. "
For the last year, I’ve concentrated on a single material: raw canvas and thread. During this year of “coherence” I’ve limited myself to using white and black, without yet exploring the possibility of color.
By using canvas and thread, I researched various modes of exposition and fruition: these have become an instrument for a performative act, ‘paper and ink’ for a book, small, sewn messages.
arianna fantin was born in bologna, 1986.
she studies stage and costume design since 2007, first in italy and than at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin.
